Smart Products for Automated Transportation

SWII is an exclusive industrial R&D partnering program with available funding for market oriented R&D projects via Eureka and Eurostars.

In October 2012, Switzerland and Sweden launched the industrial R&D partnering program Swiss-Swedish Innovation Initiative (SWII). The objective is to increase number of industrial R&D partnerships and the number of joint R&D projects between our countries. SWII's results so far: 29 market oriented R&D consortia and projects to a value of 37MEUR.

The next industrial R&D partnering program focuses on Smart Products for Automated Transportation. Among our industrial partners, who are interested in R&D partnering, you can find Ericsson, Autoliv, Saab, Bombardier, Swisscom, Postauto as well as the most technology intensive SMEs and academia partners like ETH Zurich and EPFL.

Project funding is available via Eureka and Eurostarswww.eurekanetwork.org

Following sub topics within Smart Products for Automated Transportation are prioritized:

1.      Tools for Smart Products 
- Sensors and Communication Technologies incl. 5G, RFID and Emergency/Distress Communication, Data Management incl. Big Data and Simulation, Quality and Security & Standards

2.      Smart Solutions for Automated Transportation
- Tools for Management of Complex Systems, Tools for Multi Modal Transportation, Autonomous Systems for Smart Cities incl. Energy Efficiency, Quality and Security and Standards
